I don't have a ton of experience in NYC with auto care centers, so I wasn't expecting a lot. I have a volvo that needed a full check up and diagnostic after being purchased used. They specialize in volvo, bmw & mostly european cars. I also assumed they would be a rip off for this reason. I was proved wrong. Not only were the guys super nice there and helpful, they gave me options about what I could do (cheaper) what was critical and what could wait a little while. No scare tactics (which honestly, I would have believed being totally green) and fast as well. I am really pleased to find a go to car repair and check up place close by with professional and experienced mechanics.Minhs has made my life much easier! If you have a european car that you want to get taken care of at a reasonable price and from trustworthy people, go there!

What a wonderful experience!! We recently moved into the neighborhood. The BMW dealership where we bought it from had said we need to change the struts as it was DANGEROUS to drive the car in this condition... It would cost us $800. Decided to wait as the car was not giving us any problems. It is interesting how no major issues appear before the warranty period expired... go figure! Recently had a flat on our BMW (run-flat) and took the car to BMW authorized service place in the same neighborhood as MINHS. Along with fixing the tire the total estimate for REQUIRED things was $1000 plus. Just the oil change was estimated at $250. This is what happens when your car has gone past the 4 year maintenance included period, they really rip you off. In anycase, after a search on good old yelp, found out about MINHS, called them and decided to give them a shot. Total estimate for tire change and oil change along with a courtesy check was $400. What a saving!! Oil change here was for $75. A no-brainer. This has got to be one of the best auto shop experiences that I have had. Gave me the car back in less than 2 hours while I waited in the neighboring Dunkin Doughnuts. Adam and Vinny were great and explained everything. Will be going here with my car for sure. Excited to have found the perfect auto care shop!

THE hardest category to give 5 stars for. THE hardest thing to find in NYC or anywhere. When you ask "do you know a good mechanic? - people tend to hedge 'cause they don't want to commit (it's hard to be sure) like "good mechanic" is an oxymoron. But these guys come close. (in the category of "a good mechanic you can trust").

i just did basic maintenance on my audi and i was very impressed. Dropped it off in the morning, picked up in the evening. Their pricing was competitive and they gave me a heads up on items to look out for the next year. They answered all my questions and were very thorough and patient. Very impressed with their service. I give it 4 rather than 5 stars because the customer experience could be enhanced by a better customer waiting area, but then again that is why you pay a premium at the dealer.

i will never go to the dealership for repairs again. much cheaper here and the staff communicates well and they dont kill you in labor fees.

After checking Yelp for an 'honest mechanic' in Brooklyn, I was happily surprised to discover this place right around the corner from my new home. My experience coincides exactly with the previous 5 star reviews. Vinny was my man- polite, professional, and patient. As has been noted before, they fit me in for an apt. quickly, were very prompt in diagnosing the car, and called to explain in detail what was discovered. When it turned out that the repairs on my old beater's suspension would be double the blue book value, they gave me the name of 3 possible places to scrap it, along with advice on getting the best price. The kicker is they didn't charge me a nickel for the estimate- which clearly took them time because they managed to exhaustively list and price every part and repair. If my car wasn't just deemed a mechanical corpse, I would have been proud to call them 'my mechanic.'

I usually do my own work on my cars, but since I can't do a NYS inspection, I have to find a shop to do it for me. Based on Yelp reviews, I made an appointment at MINHS for a Saturday morning. I knew the car was in good condition except for a pesky exhaust leak that I ran out of patience trying to fix. I dropped the car off early, waited for the phone call, and authorized the work when it came. The whole process was very straightforward and professional. When Vinny called me to tell me the car was ready, he said that since the leaking gasket was so new, they didn't have to replace it and were only charging me for the time it took to clean up the gasket mating surfaces (which is what caused the leak) and put the thing back together. Very honest - they could have padded their bill there if they'd wanted. Extremely pleasant transaction and if need work done on my car, they'll get it. Also, while Jennifer A. may have had an unpleasant experience with Vinny, I found him to be courteous and professional. Perhaps she caught him on a bad day?

The shop is clean, the technicians are pro's. The owners are courteous, forthright and honest. When they give you an estimate, its accurate. All the work I've had done on my car was absolutely correct. I highly recommend Minhs Auto.

Ability 4.5 Service 4 I like these guys. You can trust them and they dont nickel and dime you for small stuff (ie: checking something or doing some very basic task). They seem to know their stuff and take the time to explaineverything--the transparency is reassuring. They also dont overpromise or jump the gun on the problem which many mechanics seem to do. However, recently they have not been as diligent about quoting me exact amounts for the work and things have taken longer to fix due to logistical dropped balls. You will likely deal with vinny or tam when working w/ them. All and all, hard to find mechanics you can trust and are also technically sound esp with german cars. If you are in a rush to get your cars fixed, not sure this is the right shop given my previous experiences.
